Step by Step Procedure to apply passport Online

In This blog I will tell you how to apply for an Indian Passport Online. Its to easy than
applying passport in offline Mode. So lets start...

There are mainly seven step to apply for a Indian Passport.
Step1 Register through the Passport Seva Portal. Visit on this Link and fill up the particulars as given below.


Step2 After Registration a email confirmation link will be sent on your email. Login to the Passport Seva Portal with the registered Login Id and password you used during registration at Login page.
Step3   After login Click "Apply for Fresh Passport/Reissue of Passport" link on left section of the page .
Step4 Fill in the required details in the form.Please the save the form at each step to escape rewriting it.
Step5 Click the "Pay and Schedule Appointment" link on the "View Saved/Submitted Applications" screen to schedule an appointment. Since Ministry of External Affairs have made mandatory the payment before booking an appointment so you have to make payment online before booking appointments .

Online Payment has been made mandatory Passport Seva Kendras.
Online Payment can be made using any one of the following modes:
  • Credit/Debit Card (MasterCard & Visa)
  • Internet Banking (State Bank of India (SBI) and Associate Banks Only)
  • SBI Bank Challan
Step6 Upload your document(Optional) and Click the "Print Application Receipt" link to print the application receipt containing Application Reference Number (ARN)/Appointment Number.
Step7 Visit the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) where appointment has been booked, along with original documents and a copy of photostats.

The passport status can be tracked on this link by entering Application Reference Number and date of birth.
